Standby Recording Video Request
You can request a standby recording video request for up to 10 minutes after a vehicles ignition is off. This is ideal for Fleet Administrators to verify what occurred after the vehicle is parked for a short period of time. For example: when performing a delivery, loading goods, or patrolling. The available time to request a standby recording video is determined by the subscription license. The standby recording for a trip will finish if a new trip is started.
Follow the steps below to request a standby recording video request:
-
Login to the Unity application
-
Select VisionAI Hub from the left-hand side main menu
-
From the VisionAI Hub menu select Trips
-
From the Trips screen, select a Trip from the grid and review the details on the right-hand side map area
-
From the map, click on the trips blue line to mark the location and click the download icon
- From the Video type drop down menu, select standby standard video
-
On the pop-up window, select a preferred Start Time and Duration of the requested video (the oldest available footage date/time will be displayed)
-
Click the Retrieve button
Note: The camera must be powered on to download the requested video.
Once the video footage has been requested, an on-demand video request is sent to the camera. The camera will only receive the request when it is powered on. This will happen immediately if a trip is currently in progress, or the next time the camera is powered on if the vehicle is off.
- Once the video is downloaded, on the Map Area, click the event Requested video icon on the location selected to play the requested video
To confirm the video request was received, you will see the below updated notification with clear instructions on what to do next. To complete the video upload, please make sure the dashcam is powered on and in an open area with good cellular coverage.
The “Requested Video” will appear alongside videos for driving events for the selected trip in the Trips tab once the request has been fulfilled. The requested video will also appear in the Flagged Events tab.
Note: Until the video is available, a video retrieval pending status displays while playing the video.
The camera holds videos that have not been uploaded to the cloud for as long as possible based on the capacity of the installed SD card. Once videos are in the cloud, they are deleted from the camera. Currently the 128 GB SD card supports a 60 hour driving window to make video retrieval requests. AI events are automatically uploaded to the cloud.
