Driver Assignments Overview
The Driver Assignments functionality allows driver associations to assets from multiple sources (such as default driver, driver token, manual entry, vehicle assignment). Only one driver can be assigned to one asset at a time.
The driver remains assigned to an asset until:

Driver sign-in on another asset is received

A new driver sign-in is received for the same asset

There is an explicit driver sign-out from the asset
Additional details for working with Driver Assignments includes the following:

In case the driver is changed during the trip, the last signed-in driver is assigned as the driver for the entire trip.

One driver can also be a default driver for one asset at a time.

If no driver is assigned to an asset the default driver will be automatically assigned unless currently signed into another asset.

If no default driver is set, and there is no association present, no driver association will be set.
