How to – Add a New Rule (conditions section)
The Conditions section allows you to specify which Assets you would like to include, what the thresholds are, how you want to be notified, and who you want to notify when a Rule is triggered.
Follow the steps below to add a new Rule:
- From the Conditions section, click the Assets field
-
To individually select Assets, add a tick next to the desired Asset name
-
Or click the Search field, and type in the Asset name
-
Or click to enable Group mode and select the desired Groups (includes a Group of pre-existing assets)
-
Click the Confirm button
The parameters within the Conditions section will vary based on the selected Rule. The Speed limit rule allows you to set a dynamic value for speed limit violation rules. As speeding is treated differently in various locations (school zone vs highway), it allows you to create one rule that will generate events depending on the violation severity.
Follow the steps below to add a new Rule:
13.For the Speed Limit rule, specify the Exceed speed by value (km/h or mi/h). For example, when any of the selected assets speed exceeds 15 km/h of the posted speed limit, this rule will be triggered.
-
Or enable the percentage toggle and specify the desired percentage. For example, when any of the selected assets speed exceeds 15% of the posted speed limit, this rule will be triggered.
-
Specify when you would like this Rule to trigger: Immediately or Status has elapsed (specify time) **
