How to – Enable Asset Restrictions
The Restrictions area allows you to prevent un-assignment of Assets. This is to avoid situations where users by mistake unassign assets.
Follow the steps below to enable group asset restrictions:
-
Log in to Unity
-
From the Navigation Panel on the left hand side, click the Settings module
-
Select the Groups tab from the top
-
From the list of Groups, select the desired Group name
-
Click the toggle button to enable Restrictions
-
Add a tick next to Prevent assets from being unassigned
-
Click the Save button
Example: Restriction Prevent assets from being unassigned added to Parent Node 'App Trucking USA', all Child Nodes 'App Trucking California' and 'App Trucking Texas' will be prevented from unassigning the assets.

If the ‘Prevent assets from being unassigned’ Group Restriction is selected for a group, and a user try's to unassign any asset for that group, a pop-up window will be displayed, as show in the picture below ‘Not allowed’.
The Restrictions area also allows you to assign an asset only once. The group specific restrictions are hidden under a dedicated expandable panel.

Here is an example of ‘Prevent assets from being assigned more than once’ Group Restriction.
As a result, an asset can be assigned only once in the entire Group.
- Example 1: Asset presence is not limited, meaning it can be assigned to multiple nodes from the same Group.
- Example 2: Asset presence is limited, as a result it can be present only once.
