How to - Archive an Asset
Archiving hides an asset from your everyday view while preserving all of its historical data for reporting. This is useful when an asset is no longer active but you still need access to its records.
Example: An asset was in use for three years and has since been sold. You still need the historical data for reporting purposes, but no longer need to see the asset in your day-to-day list. Archiving removes it from view, while still allowing access via a dedicated toggle when needed.
Follow the steps below to archive an asset:
-
Log in to Unity
-
From the Navigation Panel on the left-hand side, click the Settings module
-
Click the Assets tab, and select Assets list
-
From the asset list, click the asset name
-
Click the 3-dots menu, and select Archive
How to - Delete an Asset
Deleting permanently removes an asset from your fleet, along with all of its associated historical data. This action cannot be undone, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary.
Deleting is best suited for assets with no meaningful history — for example, an asset that was created by mistake.
Follow the steps below to delete an asset:
-
Log in to Unity
-
From the Navigation Panel on the left-hand side, click the Settings module
-
Click the Assets tab, and select Assets list
-
From the asset list, click the asset name
-
Click the 3-dots menu, and select Delete
