How to – Enable Inspect for Drivers
Administrators can grant drivers access to the Inspect mobile app. Drivers do not require any specific roles or permissions. Once a driver has been added, they will need to accept the welcome email sent to their email address, to set up their login credentials. The driver will then need to download the Inspect mobile app, and type in the login credentials that they setup from the welcome email.
Follow the steps below to enable Inspect for users:
-
Log in to Unity
-
From the Navigation Panel on the left-hand side, click the Settings module
-
From the Settings sub menu select People, and then the People List tab
-
From the People List, select the desired Driver name
-
From the Account section, click the checkboxes for Can log in as a web and mobile platform user, and Can be selected as Driver
-
Click the Save button
Note: Drivers will be required to download the Unity Inspect mobile app.
Administrators can set up Unity Groups, to allow drivers to see assets in the Unity Inspect mobile app. Drivers will be able to select from all assets they have access to in the Unity hierarchy.
Access to assets in Inspect is not dependent on which groups a driver belongs to, but on the groups that assets belong to and the groups the drivers have access to.
Assets that don’t belong to any group will be visible to all drivers. Example: Driver 1 has access to Assets in Canada, British Columbia & Ontario. Driver 1 does not have access to Assets in United States, California & Texas.
Example of Groups based on geographical location
Note: For more information on Groups, refer to the Support for Unity Groups section.
