How to – Mark Minor Defects as ‘Not a Defect’ from Defect Details
There are two ways to mark a minor defect as ‘Not a Defect’. From the Defect Details view, and from the Defect list page. Users may want to do this if a driver reported a defect that is something superficial that won’t be repaired, or if a defect was reported for the wrong vehicle in error.
Follow the steps below to mark a Minor Defect as ‘Not a Defect’ from the Defect Details view:

Log in to Unity

From the Navigation Panel on the left-hand side, click Inspect

Click the Defects tab

From the list of Defects, click the desired Defect

Select the Not a Defect button

Type in related Notes

Click the Confirm button
Note: Only minor defects can be marked as not a defect due to the severity level of major defects. If you have a major defect that isn’t valid, you will have to mark it as repaired with a note indicating that it wasn’t a valid defect.
