How to – Add a Service Plan
Service Plans are accessible from the Maintenance module. A Service Plan can be a one-time service such as windshield repair, or a recurring service such as an oil change.
Follow the steps below to add a Service Plan:

Log in to Unity

From the Navigation Panel on the left-hand side, click the Maintenance module

Select the Service Plans tab from the top

To add a new service plan, click the + button

Select Recurring service or One time service

An empty Details form will be displayed on the right-hand side to enter details for the service plan, type in the service plan Name

Type in a Description as necessary

To change the Access Level (visibility of this service plan within your organization) click the Arrow to the right of the field

The Access level change pop-up message will appear, click the Proceed button

From the list, select the pre-defined applicable Group Access Level

Click the Accept button
Note: The Access Level controls visibility of the following: which assets can be added to this service plan, which people can be chosen as reminder recipients and which people can see the service plan.
When assets are added to a recurring service plan, all reminders will be calculated from the time an asset was added to the plan. It is important to adjust the target values of the new reminders for each asset, in order for the first maintenance recurring cycle to be accurate.
Follow the steps below to add a Service Plan:
- Click within the Assets field

To individually select Assets, add a tick next to the desired Assets

Or click the Search field, and type in the asset’s name, license plate, label or group to locate the associated asset

Or click to enable Group mode and select the desired groups (includes a Group of pre-existing assets)

Click the Confirm button

If desired tick Service cost is required

If desired tick Time spent is required
Service Plans can be setup to be recurring by one or more of the following parameters: Odometer, Time and Engine Hours. The recurring service plans will trigger based on which parameter was met first if more than one is selected.
Follow the steps below to add a Service Plan:
- If Recurring service plan was selected, it can be made recurring by one or more of the following: - By Time: enter the value day or month - By Odometer: enter the value of the odometer in km/mi for the service plan - By Operating hours: enter the hour value of the engine run for the service to take place - By PTO Hours: enter the hour value of the power take off for the service to take place
For a recurring Service Plan, a reminder can be configured. Two notifications are sent, the first one is based on the “Send Reminder” configuration of the service plan, and the second reminder is sent on the “Service Due”. You also have the option to add a single service that occurs just once.
- Add a service reminder, a reminder can be set for the service plan by: - Before due time - Before due Odometer - Before due operating hours - Before due PTO hours
- Click within the Internal email recipients field

To individually select People, add a tick next to the desired Person

Or click the Search field, and type in the person’s name, group or email address

Or click to enable Group mode and select the desired groups (all users within the selected groups will receive the notification reminder email)

Click the Confirm button
- Click within the Push notification recipients field

To individually select People, add a tick next to the desired Person

Or click the Search field, and type in the person’s name, group or email address

Or click to enable Group mode and select the desired groups (all users within the selected groups will receive the push notification reminder)

Click the Confirm button

If you would like external recipients to receive email reminders, type in the External email recipients field

Click Add as new and repeat the step above to add additional external email recipients

If desired tick Notify assigned drivers

Click the Save button
Note: Once the new Service Plan has been saved, it is important to adjust the target values of the new reminders for each asset, in order for the first maintenance recurring cycle to be accurate. For more information refer to the how to Edit Upcoming Reminder of an Asset section.
