Inspect Module – Assets List
When you sign in to the Unity Inspect app and select the Inspect module, you will see a list of assets that are currently assigned to you, as well as the last DVIR that was completed for each of the listed assets. You will also see a summary of defects reported from the previous DVIR for each asset and if any of the defect(s) have been repaired.
Follow the steps below to view the Summary of Defects from the previous DVIR:
-
Login to the Unity Inspect App
-
From the main menu icon (top left), tap the Inspect module
-
View the list of assets currently assigned to you
-
View the Summary of defects from the previous DVIR for each asset
In this example the following two assets are assigned: Truck 1 and Trailer 3.
Seeing the last time assets were inspected helps you identify if a new inspection is required.
In the U.S., a DVIR is required to be completed on commercial vehicles at the end of each day. When you start driving for the day you are required to review the previous DVIR for your assets and sign-off on them if defects were reported or if defects have been repaired for an asset.
In Canada, a DVIR for a commercial vehicle expires after 24 hours. If 24 hours have passed since the last DVIR was completed for the assets, you need to complete a new one prior to driving.
