Assignment Module – Asset Status
Each asset card in the Assignment module and Asset assignment screen, shows if the asset is “Assigned to me”, “Available” or ‘In Use’ which means it is assigned to another driver. The Asset status is for informational purposes only.
If you choose to start using an asset that shows as ‘In Use’, you will be assigned, and the driver currently assigned will be unassigned. That driver will be notified within the Unity Inspect mobile app that they have been unassigned from the asset.
Knowing if an asset is currently assigned can be helpful in two ways:
-
It can prevent you from accidentally selecting the wrong asset. It will make you do a double-take if the asset you are about to start using shows as In Use – especially if your fleet has many assets with similar looking names.
-
If someone accidentally chooses an asset you are already using, you will receive a notification that you’ve been unassigned. You can then reach out and let them or your fleet manager know that they’ve selected the wrong vehicle. You can also re-assign yourself to your asset.
Asset card displays previous inspection and defect count information.
